Maya Abela is a staff attorney in the Tucson office of the Arizona Center for Disability Law (ACDL). Since joining ACDL in 2015, Maya has assisted clients with various disabilities in advocating for their legal rights, and assisting them in gaining access to the services they need in order to maximize independence and achieve equality. Prior to joining ACDL, Maya was a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, representing the EPA in environmental enforcement cases. Maya is a 2009 graduate of the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
