Robert M. Factor, M.D.
Bob Factor is the Medical Director and Clinical Director of the Emergency Services Unit of the Mental Health Center of Dane County. The Center is nationally and internationally recognized as providing pioneering and state of the art community based services to persons with serious mental illness, and providing training of mental health professionals. The Emergency Services Unit provides crisis intervention/ resolution and backup for all patients seen by the Center, and is available to all residents of Dane County. Bob is also the Medical Director of the Community Support Program of the Madison VA Hospital, an assertive community- based treatment team serving veterans with serious and persistent mental illness. Additionally, he is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. His interests include the community- based treatment of persons with serious long-term mental illness; emergency and consultation psychiatry; individual and family psychotherapy; and medical and psychiatric education.
