Adele Lynch, J.D., Director of the University of San Diego Patient Advocacy Program, began her advocacy career there, as an intern, over 20 years ago. Adele provides individual advocacy, training, monitoring and technical support to clients, community members, mental health providers and law enforcement, regarding patient’s rights, involuntary detention and inpatient treatment. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego School of Law where she teaches and operates the Mental Health Law Clinic.  In 2005, she received the Joy McAllister Advocacy Award from the Mental Health San Association of San Diego County.
