Tammy Seltzer, J.D.
Tammy Seltzer is the Director of the DC Jail & Prison Advocacy Project (DC JPAP) for University Legal Services in Washington, DC. The DC JPAP assists DC residents who have psychiatric disabilities who are planning their reentry into the community from the DC Jail or the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The project aims to redress abuse, neglect or discrimination which increase periods of incarceration and serve as barriers to successful reentry for men and women with psychiatric disabilities. Prior to her work at the DC JPAP, Ms. Seltzer was previously an Equal Justice Fellow and senior staff attorney at the Judge David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, Director of State Policy at the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, and ran a consulting practice, Progressive Policy Solutions.
