Steven G. Stone

Steve is the Executive Director of the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Ashland County beginning in 2003.  He has worked in the community mental health field for over 30 years.  Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in religion/education and a Master of Arts from Ashland Theological Seminary in counseling and psychology.  He received his clinical training at the Cleveland Psychiatric Institute and Case Western Reserve University. He also completed extensive post-graduate studies in Public Policy and Social Change at Union Institute and University. 

Steve was licensed as a clinical counselor/supervisor in 1989 has worked in both in-patient and out-patient mental health settings. He maintained a private counseling practice in Ashland for 15 years. He is an adjunct professor in the Applied Psychology department at Franklin University and is an approved mental health mediator.

Steve has co-chaired the Statewide Task Force for the Elimination of Seclusion and Restraint in Mental Healthcare in Ohio since 2006.  He is also co-founder and co-chair (with Pat Risser) of the RSVP Annual Mental Health Recovery Conference in Ohio.
