Celia Brown, NARPA Board Member & Director of Peer Specialist Services, NYC Field Office of Mental Health

Cultural competency is an important factor in the lives of people with diverse cultures. Cultural diversity in our community brings with it opportunities and challenges on how empowerment & recovery is viewed and translated into community. There is a need for a wider discussion. The workshop presenters will discuss perspectives on culture and resources for different people in terms of race, consumerism as culture, gender and sexual orientation.
