A Dialogue on Cultural Competence

Jacki McKinney, National People of Color Consumer/Survivor of Network; and Celia Brown, NARPA Board Member & Director of Peer Specialist Services, NYC Field Office of Mental Health.

This workshop is an invitation for people to join in a frank and open dialogue about cultural competency in the mental health system, and the value of difference and diversity. The presenters will focus on inclusion, rights-based issues and education for culturally diverse groups. People of all backgrounds are invited to help develop strategies to fight discrimination within the mental health system and other systems in their own communities.
